How Much Does Nutshell Cost?

The real price of the CRM, plan by plan, add-ons included.

Short answer: Nutshell starts at $7/user/month on the Foundation plan with annual billing ($13 monthly), with a 14-day free trial and no credit card. But that is a per-seat price: a five-person team pays five times that figure. And because email marketing and two-way SMS are sold as separate add-ons, a five-person team on the Pro plan with the Marketing module runs closer to ~$224/month. We walk through every plan, every add-on, and what you really pay for your team.

Prices checked June 2026 on nutshell.com/pricing and cross-referenced. Pricing is per user: multiply by your seat count. API and SSO are reserved for the Enterprise plan. Some third-party aggregators list Foundation at $13/month annually: we keep the official $7 figure, worth confirming on the official page before you pay.

Mind the entry-price trap

Nutshell bills per seat, then in add-ons

The listed price is per user. Multiply it by your team, then add the modules sold separately. Here is what each piece costs.

The CRM (per seat)

The core product: contacts, pipelines, automation, reporting. From $7 (Foundation) to $69/user/month (Enterprise) annually. Because it bills per seat, a five-person team on Pro already pays $175/month. This is the module detailed in the table above.

Marketing add-on

Advanced email marketing (reporting, AI campaign builder, A/B testing, SMS marketing) is a separate module at $49/month, billed per account rather than per user. This is what turns Nutshell from a plain CRM into a campaign tool.

Engagement add-on

Two-way SMS, a unified inbox and WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram integrations come via the Engagement add-on at $16/user/month. On a five-person team, that is $80/month on top.

Usage-based add-ons

Other modules exist separately: Email (campaigns, priced per contact), SMS (priced per message), Prospecting aka Nutshell IQ (~$37/month for lead research) and Proposals & Invoices (~$67/month for quotes and invoices). Add these only if you need them, and confirm pricing on the official page.

  • Solo or a pair? Foundation is often enough at $7/seat.
  • Want reporting and automation? Aim for Pro, the pivot plan.
  • Running email campaigns? The Marketing add-on is $49/month extra.
  • Want SMS and social messaging? Engagement is $16/user/month.
  • Need the API or SSO? Only Enterprise unlocks them.
Our method

How we size the real cost

Nutshell's listed price does not tell you what you really pay, because it is per user and the key modules are add-ons. To size the real cost, we model a five-person team on the Pro plan annually, then add the most common add-ons. Here is the breakdown.

Estimates with annual billing (June 2026), based on the per-seat price plus add-ons. Adjust for your real team. Nutshell's pricing is per seat, not per volume: each added user raises the bill by the chosen plan's rate. The Marketing (per account) and Engagement (per seat) add-ons stack on top of the CRM.

Entry prices checked June 2026 on the official pages. Nutshell stands out by including the AI chatbot and landing pages from Foundation, where Pipedrive and HubSpot charge for them higher up. Close (from ~$9/user on Solo, ~$35 on Essentials) stays an option if you want native calling and SMS. The cheapest at entry remains HubSpot thanks to its free CRM, but the bill climbs fast as you move up.

The verdict

So, is Nutshell expensive?

Our take after a close look: the entry price is low, but the real cost depends on seats and add-ons. Here is when it pays off, and when it stings.

Good value if…

You are a small team and you want a simple CRM that already includes AI, a chatbot and landing pages. At $7/seat annually, Foundation is one of the lowest entry prices on the market for that feature set, with no setup or migration fees.

Pricey if…

You are scaling fast and you want it all: advanced reporting, email marketing and social messaging. Stacking Pro, the Marketing add-on and Engagement on a five-person team pushes the bill toward $300/month. In that case, an all-in-one like HubSpot can pull more building blocks under one roof.

The verdict

Nutshell is an honest CRM at a fair price for small teams, as long as you think seat by seat. Take Foundation or Pro, switch your add-ons on one at a time, and only pay for Marketing or Engagement if you truly use them.

  • Pay annually: up to 46% off on Foundation.
  • Start on Foundation, move to Pro when reporting is missing.
  • Add the Marketing add-on only if you actually run email.
  • Use the 14-day free trial, no card, to validate the fit.
  • Count every seat: it is the first lever on your bill.
Pricing FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Nutshell pricing

  • How much does Nutshell cost per month?
Nutshell starts at $7/user/month on the Foundation plan with annual billing, or $13/user/month monthly. The higher plans climb to $18 (Growth), $35 (Pro), $51 (Business) and $69 (Enterprise) per user per month annually. Because it bills per seat, multiply that rate by your number of users: a five-person team on Pro already pays $175/month. And if you add the Marketing add-on ($49/month), a common setup runs closer to about $224/month. The smart move is to start from the plan that covers your needs and switch on the add-ons one at a time.
  • How much does Nutshell cost per year?
With annual billing, the Foundation plan works out to about $84/year per user ($7 × 12), Growth at $216/year, Pro at $420/year, Business at $612/year and Enterprise at $828/year, all per user. Annual billing saves up to about 46% versus monthly on Foundation, and around 12% on Enterprise. For a five-person team on Pro with the Marketing add-on, expect roughly $2,700/year. Always confirm the exact price on the official page before you pay, as the tiers can change.
  • Does Nutshell have a free plan?
No, Nutshell has no permanent free plan. It does offer a 14-day free trial, with no credit card, on every plan. During the trial you access the features of the plan you choose: pipelines, automation, reporting, the AI chatbot. That is enough to confirm whether the tool fits the way you sell before you commit. Nutshell also highlights included data migration and support, with no setup fees. After 14 days, you need to move to a paid plan to keep using the CRM.
  • Is email marketing included in the Nutshell price?
No. Advanced email marketing is a separate add-on at $49/month, billed per account rather than per user. It unlocks advanced email reporting, the AI campaign builder, A/B testing and SMS marketing. The CRM plans do include the AI chatbot, form builder and landing pages from Foundation, which is rare at that price. So if you want to run real email campaigns from Nutshell, budget that $49/month on top of the per-seat rate. If you already use another email tool, you can skip it.
  • How much does Nutshell cost for a team of 5?
For a five-person team, expect about $35/month on Foundation (5 × $7), $90/month on Growth, $175/month on Pro, $255/month on Business and $345/month on Enterprise, with annual billing. The most common case, a five-person team on Pro with the Marketing add-on, runs around $224/month. If you add the Engagement add-on for SMS and social messaging ($16/user), that is $80/month more. Seat count is the first lever on your bill, before you even pick a plan.
  • Is Nutshell more expensive than Pipedrive or HubSpot?
It depends on the plan. At entry, Nutshell Foundation at $7/user/month is cheaper than Pipedrive Lite (around $14) and already includes the AI chatbot and landing pages. HubSpot offers a powerful free CRM, so it is the cheapest to start, but its Sales Hub tiers get expensive quickly as you move up. Close, built for sales with native calling and SMS, starts around $9/user on Solo and $35 on Essentials. The right comparison depends on what you want included out of the box: on that score, Nutshell is generous at entry.
  • Which add-ons push up the Nutshell bill?
The CRM plan does not cover everything. Nutshell also sells the Marketing add-on ($49/month for advanced email, A/B testing and SMS marketing), the Engagement add-on ($16/user/month for two-way SMS and social messaging), a Prospecting module aka Nutshell IQ (around $37/month for lead research) and Proposals & Invoices (around $67/month for quotes and invoices). On top of that, the AI outcomes quotas are capped per plan, which can push you to upgrade. List the modules you genuinely need before you size your budget.
  • Is there a discount for paying Nutshell annually?
Yes. Annual billing saves on every plan: Foundation drops from $13 to $7/user/month, about 46% off, Growth from $25 to $18, Pro from $42 to $35, Business from $59 to $51 and Enterprise from $79 to $69. The percentage saving is largest on the lower tiers and smaller on Enterprise (around 12%). It is the main lever to pay Nutshell less. Be wary of third-party coupon pages: the best move is the annual commitment, plus only subscribing to the add-ons that are actually useful.
  • Are the API and SSO included in Nutshell?
No, not on the entry plans. SQL data access, enterprise SSO and unlimited pipelines are reserved for the Enterprise plan, at $69/user/month annually. The lower plans cap the number of custom pipelines (5 on Pro, 10 on Business) and do not open SQL access. If your team needs deep integrations via the API or single sign-on for security reasons, you have to aim for Enterprise. It is worth planning for, because these needs often appear as the team grows, and the price jump is steep.
  • Can I cancel Nutshell easily?
Yes, the subscription is managed from your account and you can change plan as your team evolves. Because billing is per seat, removing users directly cuts the bill on the next cycle. The watch-out is add-ons: make sure you are no longer billed for Marketing or Engagement if you stop using them. Before closing your account, export your contacts, deals and activity history, as these are valuable records you will not get back afterward. Migrating away from Nutshell deserves the same prep as migrating to it.
