Streak vs Sellsy 2026

Short answer: pick Streak if your whole team lives in Gmail and you want a CRM that costs nothing to start. Pick Sellsy if you are a French SMB facing the September 2026 e-invoicing mandate, or if even one teammate is on Outlook.

Both score 3.7/5 overall in our tests, but the criteria split along a clear fault line. Streak wins on ease and price entry. Sellsy wins on functional depth, support quality, and ecosystem fit for France. The deciding variable is not features, it is whether your team is 100% Gmail, and whether you issue invoices to other French businesses.

Criterion by criterion, head to head

The same five criteria we scored on each tool's review page. Winners mirror the packet scores exactly.

Round 1 · Ease of use

01 Round 1: getting the first pipeline live.

Streak
4.4/5
WinnerStreak
Sellsy
3.4/5
Our verdictEase of use · Winner : Streak

Streak installs as a Chrome extension in under five minutes. The first pipeline is live the same afternoon with zero formal training, confirmed across multiple G2 reviewers who describe same-day adoption. The drag-and-drop Kanban editor sits inside Gmail, so teams already comfortable in their inbox pick it up without context-switching at all. One reviewer at a research firm reports onboarding a four-person team to core features without a single training session.

Sellsy requires 2-3 hours of initial setup for pipelines, custom fields, and document templates. A sales team of four people needed 45 minutes for the basics plus two additional sessions to get comfortable with advanced features. The interface is functional and covers a wider surface, invoicing, e-signatures, projects, but navigation between modules requires several clicks, and multiple reviewers describe it as slightly dated compared to modern alternatives. Sellsy's mobile app supports e-signatures and field-team geolocation, a real edge Streak cannot match.

The honest bémol on Streak: the Gmail panel gets cluttered fast with heavy data, one owner reports disabling the extension because it made Gmail lag, and the whole thing collapses the moment anyone on the team is not on Chrome + Gmail. Ease of setup goes to Streak. Depth of daily workflow for a French team goes to Sellsy.

Streak

Choose Streak for day-one adoption with no training in a 100% Gmail team.

Sellsy

Choose Sellsy for teams that can invest one week of onboarding for far greater functional depth.

Round 2 · Value for money

02 Round 2: where the bill actually lands.

Streak
3.5/5
WinnerStreak
Sellsy
3.2/5
Our verdictValue for money · Winner : Streak

Streak wins this by a slim margin, and mostly because of the free plan. Streak's free tier is genuinely useful, email tracking, snippets, limited mail merge, at $0 forever. Sellsy has no free plan and a hard 2-user minimum: a solo founder on Standard annual pays at minimum around €1,176/year. That asymmetry at the entry end is significant for small teams testing the water.

Move past that, and it gets more nuanced. At $49/user/month (Pro annual), Streak covers pipeline management for Gmail teams at a lower sticker than Sellsy's Evolution combined suite at €89/user/month. But Sellsy bundles invoicing, e-signatures (saving roughly €20-30/month versus DocuSign), eReporting, and Factur-X compliance that Streak cannot provide at any tier. A 5-person French SMB on Sellsy Evolution combined pays €5,340/year, and gets CRM + invoicing + e-signatures + compliance in one bill. That same team paying $69/user/month for Streak Pro+ plus separate invoicing software and an e-signature tool will likely land in the same range or higher.

The honest Streak bémol: automations only unlock at Pro+ ($69/user/month), so the practical CRM floor for a team that wants automation is $69, not $49. Enterprise at $129/user/month adds dedicated support, but requires a 10-user minimum, pricing out exactly the small teams Streak targets.

Streak

Choose Streak to keep CRM costs low when invoicing is handled separately and the team is small.

Sellsy

Choose Sellsy when calculating total tooling cost (CRM + invoicing + e-signature + compliance) as one bundle.

Round 3 · Features and depth

03 Round 3: inbox CRM versus commercial all-in-one.

Streak
3.6/5
WinnerSellsy
Sellsy
4.2/5
Our verdictFeatures and depth · Winner : Sellsy

Sellsy wins this one clearly. The feature set is substantially broader: CRM pipelines (up to 20 on Evolution), invoicing, quotes, e-signatures (tested at under 10 minutes in real SMB conditions), eReporting, cash management, marketing email and SMS sequences, project tracking, SIRENE enrichment, and a 2026 AI tools add-on. For a commercial team running structured sales operations in France, there is no equivalent on Streak.

Streak covers its own scope well. Kanban pipelines, mail merge (1,500/day on Pro), email tracking, AI Co-Pilot with deal summaries, pipeline Q&A, auto-fill from email signatures, ChatGPT and Claude integrations, and MCP server support, genuinely forward-looking on the AI side for a CRM of this size. The honest catch: automation is rule-based only at Pro+, no multi-step sequences, no conditional branching. Reporting is basic until Pro+. Multiple reviewers export raw data to spreadsheets because the built-in analytics cannot organize complex work cleanly.

Sellsy's bémol: marketing automation is described as basic compared to HubSpot or ActiveCampaign. The 2026 AI add-on covers client summaries and email writing but lacks lead scoring or predictive analytics. Streak's MCP server and native Claude integration are more mature on the AI front specifically.

Streak

Choose Streak for the most AI-forward lightweight Gmail CRM without invoicing overhead.

Sellsy

Choose Sellsy for full commercial management depth: pipeline + invoicing + e-signature + compliance.

Round 4 · Customer support and assistance

04 Round 4: who answers when it breaks.

Streak
3.0/5
WinnerSellsy
Sellsy
4.1/5
Our verdictCustomer support and assistance · Winner : Sellsy

Sellsy wins this clearly and it is not close. We contacted Sellsy support four times over three months: average email response time was 4-6 hours, always in French, always with a relevant solution. Live chat on Evolution and Elite plans averaged under 10 minutes wait. Personalized onboarding is offered on Evolution and Elite, a 1-hour call with a Sellsy advisor to configure pipelines and custom fields, which meaningfully accelerates adoption. For a French SMB, having local French-language support that responds in hours rather than weeks is a real differentiator.

Streak's support model is email-only on standard plans. No live chat, no phone on Pro or Pro+. Multiple reviewers on G2 and Capterra cite response times of two or more weeks. Dedicated support exists but only on the Enterprise tier with a 10-user minimum, out of reach for the small teams Streak otherwise targets. To be fair: Streak University tutorials and live classes cover onboarding well, and several reviewers describe the team as helpful when they do respond. The structural problem is speed and channel coverage, not quality.

The Sellsy bémol worth flagging: no phone support on Standard (€49/user/month combined), the community forum is less active than HubSpot or Salesforce, and chat is locked to Evolution and above. For a team on the entry plan, the real channel is email. Still comfortably better than Streak's standard offering.

Streak

Choose Streak only if the team is self-sufficient and comfortable with async, slow support.

Sellsy

Choose Sellsy for any team that needs responsive, French-language help during working hours.

Round 5 · Available integrations

05 Round 5: raw breadth vs ecosystem fit.

Streak
3.7/5
WinnerSellsy
Sellsy
3.9/5
Our verdictAvailable integrations · Winner : Sellsy

Sellsy edges this 3.9 to 3.7, a closer round than it looks. Sellsy's 100+ native integrations cover the French SMB essentials: Aircall (telephony with auto call logging, tested with a 6-person team with immediate adoption), Order Invoicer (Shopify/WooCommerce/PrestaShop orders become invoices automatically), Tiime (pre-accounting and bank sync), Zapier and Make, plus REST API. Critically, Sellsy integrates with both Gmail and Outlook, so mixed-email teams are covered. The French ecosystem tooling (Tiime, SIRENE, Aircall) is irrelevant to non-French teams but extremely high-value for the FR market.

Streak's integration story is technically broader on raw count: 9,000+ apps via Zapier, deep Google Workspace native ties (Calendar, Sheets, Drive, Forms), and first-party connectors for Calendly, Typeform, Slack and LinkedIn. The MCP server and native ChatGPT + Claude integrations added in 2025 are genuinely ahead of most CRMs at this price point. The catch: the native automation integrations (Calendly, Typeform, Slack) are locked to Pro+ and Enterprise only, and the whole ecosystem collapses if anyone moves off Gmail + Chrome.

Streak's Zapier breadth technically wins on catalog size. Sellsy wins on real-world fit for a French team, on email-client agnosticism, and on the maturity of its French-ecosystem connectors. For a Google-first international team, Streak integrates better. For a French team with Outlook users, Aircall, or WooCommerce orders to invoice, Sellsy is the only viable option.

Streak

Choose Streak for Google-first teams and developer stacks with Zapier and MCP needs.

Sellsy

Choose Sellsy for French teams with mixed email clients, Aircall, or e-commerce invoicing needs.

The shortlist

Pick by scenario

Choose Streak if…

  • The entire team works exclusively in Gmail + Chrome. Streak's inbox-native experience has no peer for this setup
  • A real free tier at $0 matters. Sellsy's 2-user minimum and no free plan are hard blockers for solo operators
  • AI-forward features are a priority now: MCP server, ChatGPT + Claude integrations, deal summaries, pipeline Q&A
  • The CRM need is lightweight (pipeline management, email tracking, mail merge) without invoicing or accounting
  • The team is not based in France and has no Factur-X or DGFiP e-invoicing requirement

Choose Sellsy if…

  • The business faces the September 2026 French e-invoicing mandate. Sellsy is PA-certified by DGFiP, Streak is not
  • Any team member uses Outlook or Microsoft 365. Streak stops working entirely in that scenario
  • Invoicing, quotes, e-signatures, and CRM need to live in a single tool to avoid paying separately for DocuSign and an invoicing app
  • French-language local support with response times in hours (not weeks) is a real operational requirement
  • Multi-pipeline complexity, SIRENE enrichment, or Aircall telephony integration are on the requirements list

FAQ · 10 questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Is Streak free in 2026?
Yes. Streak has a genuine permanent free plan with email tracking, snippets, limited mail merge (50/day), Streak Share, and Thread Splitter. The catch: the free plan has no pipelines and no team features. The practical CRM floor is Pro at $49/user/month (annual). Automations and key native integrations only unlock at Pro+ at $69/user/month. Source: streak.com/pricing, June 2026.
  • How much does Sellsy cost per month in 2026?
Sellsy offers CRM-only (Vente) or combined CRM + Invoicing suites. Combined suite annual billing: Standard €49/user/mo, Evolution €89/user/mo, Elite €119/user/mo. Monthly billing adds roughly 20%. A 2-user minimum applies, a solo founder on Standard annual pays at minimum around €1,176/year. Warning: many review sites still show legacy modular pricing (€29/€49/€95), check sellsy.com directly. Source: prospeo.io and hellocognito.fr, June 2026.
  • Streak vs Sellsy vs HubSpot, which should you choose?
Three different tiers of scope. Streak is Gmail-native and ideal for small Google-first teams wanting inbox CRM at minimal cost. Sellsy is the French all-in-one (CRM + invoicing + e-invoicing compliance) for French SMBs. HubSpot sits between the two: a free CRM with far more powerful marketing automation and 1,000+ integrations, not inbox-native but email-client agnostic. Choose Streak for Gmail simplicity, Sellsy for French regulatory compliance and invoicing, HubSpot if marketing automation depth or room to scale to a full GTM platform is the priority.
  • Can you migrate from Sellsy to Streak?
Streak can import contacts via CSV or Google Contacts sync. But migrating Sellsy's invoice history, e-signature documents, and eReporting data to Streak is not possible. Streak has no invoicing module. A Sellsy-to-Streak migration effectively means losing financial history in the CRM. Teams considering a switch should plan to keep a separate invoicing tool (Pennylane or another Factur-X-compatible SaaS) and import only contact and deal pipeline data into Streak.
  • Is Streak good for teams not on Gmail?
No. Streak is a Chrome extension that runs exclusively inside Gmail. It does not work with Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, or any non-Gmail client. If any team member uses Outlook or Microsoft 365 email, Streak will not function for them. Sellsy, Pipedrive, HubSpot, or any client-agnostic CRM would be the correct alternatives. One reviewer in the Streak dataset flags this directly as a dealbreaker.
  • What is Factur-X and why does it matter for choosing a CRM in France?
Factur-X is a hybrid PDF/XML e-invoice format required by France's mandatory e-invoicing reform. From September 1, 2026, all French VAT-registered businesses must be able to receive structured e-invoices via a certified PDP or PA platform. SMEs and micro-enterprises must also emit them from September 2027. Sellsy is an approved PA (Plateforme Agréée) by the DGFiP and handles Factur-X, UBL, and CII formats natively. Streak is a US company with no DGFiP certification and no invoicing module. Source: facture-obligatoire.fr and go.sellsy.com, June 2026.
  • What is the cheapest CRM for a freelancer or solo operator?
Streak's free plan is the most accessible option if on Gmail, $0 forever with email tracking and snippets. Sellsy has no free plan and requires a minimum of 2 users, around €1,176/year minimum. For a solo operator not on Gmail, HubSpot's free CRM (unlimited contacts, basic pipeline) is the closest alternative. Sellsy is not practical for solo use given its pricing floor.
  • Does Streak work with Outlook?
No. Streak is a Chrome extension tied exclusively to Gmail. If any team member uses Microsoft 365, Outlook, or any non-Gmail client, Streak is not a viable option. Sellsy integrates with both Gmail and Outlook and is the correct fit for mixed-email teams.
  • Streak vs Sellsy for a French agency with 5 people?
It depends on the email client. If the entire team uses Gmail + Chrome and invoicing is handled separately: Streak Pro+ at $69/user/month ($4,140/year) is viable, lighter and faster to adopt. If any teammate is on Outlook, or if invoicing, e-signatures, and Factur-X compliance need to be in one tool: Sellsy Evolution combined at €89/user/month (€5,340/year) covers everything. Post-September 2026, if invoices are issued to other French businesses, Sellsy's PA certification removes a compliance headache entirely.
  • Is Sellsy GDPR compliant and where is data hosted?
Sellsy is GDPR compliant with servers hosted in France. It offers data retention management, audit trails, and granular access rights natively. Streak stores all data on Google Cloud Platform in the United States with no EU data residency option. For French SMBs with data-sovereignty requirements, Sellsy's France-hosted infrastructure is a meaningful advantage over Streak. Source: streak.com/security and hellocognito.fr, June 2026.
