These 15 recent G2 and Capterra reviews average 3.1/5, and about 47% would recommend, a noticeably tougher score than Jotform's long-term reputation. The praise is genuine and consistent: people love how easy it is to build and share forms, the e-signature and PDF generation, the large template library, and the clean Google Sheets connection, with several calling it user-friendly and effective out of the box. The frustration in this batch clusters almost entirely around plans and pricing rather than the core product: reviewers were surprised by upgrade prompts, the low cap on signed forms, monthly form-view limits, and a free plan that only allows a handful of payments before forcing a subscription. A few cite the cost climbing as features get added, plus occasional service and reliability gripes. Read together, the picture is a capable, well-liked builder whose recent scores are dragged down by plan limits and billing surprises more than by the forms themselves.

Most loved

  • +Easy, user-friendly form building and sharing
  • +E-signature flow with clear signed/unsigned tracking
  • +PDF generation that solves real customer problems
  • +Large template library and many ways to build a form
  • +Clean integrations, especially Google Sheets

Watch-outs

  • !Lower-tier plans feel limited in capabilities
  • !Low monthly cap on signed forms
  • !Monthly form-view limits on website embeds
  • !Free plan caps payments before forcing an upgrade
  • !Pricing climbs as more features are added

Many possibilities, integrating payments in form. I thought my form was working fine without a subscription, then I got an e-mail that I needed to upgrade, that was a pity

  • Backstage Coordinator for dance studioJun 5, 2026

It's extremely user friendly. It was so easy to upload the form and get it to those who needed to sign it. I loved being able to go back in and see who had signed and who still needed to sign, as well as being able to download a copy of the signed document. I have truly not found anything that I dislike about this yet

I like how there is many ways you can create a form. sometimes its abit hard to understand and not always straightforward

I like the ease that Jotform offers and the luxury look it brings, honestly. It's quite simple yet effective in its approach. The ease makes it appealing from a customer experience perspective, as registration is very easy and looks like it's working well. I also appreciate how it connects to a lot of different apps, but I specifically use it with Google Sheets, and it's amazing. The initial setup was very simple for me as well. Nothing!

I chose Jotform because it was recommended to me as a slightly better option than Google for similar needs. It is not intuitive. Simple things like changing the cell type are almost impossible and the AI support instructions do not match what is on screen. When filling a table, tabbing to the next cell to enter data requires additional clicks to start typing. Drop down menu cells require multiple clicks on to get the list, one to select, and one to get out of the cell. To many clicks!

It has turned out to be a hassle-free tool to manage external and internal workflow processes. It is more functional and affordable, that is important for a business of our size. When we got stuck at any points, the customer support was responsive, which is a great plus. This tool has definitely propelled our organization and clarity and as such it's been helpful in keeping things moving.

The Hack'celeration verdict

We tested Jotform on five criteria.

One honest score per criterion, with the wins and the catches.

Criterion 01 · Ease of use

Test JotformEase of use

4.5/5

We tested Jotform in real conditions on a dozen client projects, and it's one of the most accessible form builders for non-technical users. The drag-and-drop interface is ultra-intuitive: you select a field type, drop it into your form, configure options in 2 clicks.

What really impressed us: the quality of pre-built templates. Over 10,000 ready-to-use templates covering all use cases (contact, registration, survey, order, booking, application, evaluation). We cloned a complex booking template and customized it in 20 minutes flat. Conditional logic (show/hide fields based on responses) is remarkably simple to configure compared to competitors. The form preview is instant, and publishing takes one click via embed code or direct link.

Backoffice navigation through created forms is smooth, search and filtering work well. We manage about 30 active forms without friction. Organization by folders helps structure multi-client projects. Response analysis is clear with charts and data export to Excel/CSV.

Only downside: the interface can feel slightly heavy when you have 50+ forms and start diving into advanced settings. Some menus are nested a bit deep. But honestly, compared to the complexity of tools like Gravity Forms (WordPress) which require technical skills, Jotform remains ultra-accessible.

Verdict: excellent for businesses and freelancers who want to professionalize their forms without touching code. Zero learning curve, operational in 30 minutes.

Criterion 02 · Value for money

Test JotformValue for money

3.2/5

Let's talk money: Jotform can become expensive if you have significant traffic. The Starter plan (free) includes 5 forms and 100 monthly submissions, which is honestly consumed in a week for an active contact form on a company website. We quickly hit the limit on a client project with just one lead generation form.

Paid plans start at €34/month for Bronze (25 forms, 1,000 submissions, 1 GB) and €39/month for Silver (50 forms, 2,500 submissions, 10 GB). We're on Silver for our client projects, and we regularly brush against submission limits during marketing campaigns. Gold at €99/month (100 forms, 10,000 submissions, 100 GB) is already a substantial budget for a form tool. Enterprise is custom-quoted with unlimited features and dedicated support, but expect several hundred euros monthly.

What bothers us: submissions reset monthly. If you collect 3,000 responses in one week during a campaign, you're blocked until next month or forced to upgrade. Storage space limits are also tight: 10 GB on Silver fills quickly with file uploads (CVs, documents). We had to clean up old submissions twice already.

However, the 150+ native integrations and payment features (Stripe, PayPal, Square) partially justify the cost by eliminating extra subscriptions. If you compare with Typeform (similar pricing, better UX) or Google Forms (free unlimited but very basic), the value equation depends heavily on your specific needs.

Verdict: good value for businesses needing advanced features (payments, integrations, workflows), but expensive for simple contact forms. The free plan allows testing, but you'll need to upgrade quickly.

Criterion 03 · Features and depth

Test JotformFeatures and depth

4.6/5

This is where Jotform completely crushes competitors: the feature richness is exceptional. We've tested dozens of form builders, and Jotform offers the most comprehensive toolkit we've seen. Form builder includes 40+ field types: text inputs, dropdowns, checkboxes, file uploads, star ratings, sliders, date pickers, e-signatures, geolocation, image choices. Everything you need for any use case.

Advanced conditional logic allows showing/hiding entire sections based on user responses. We created a complex multi-step quote form with dynamic calculations, and it works perfectly. Payment integration is native with Stripe, PayPal, Square: you can sell products, subscriptions, or services directly from your forms. We use it for client booking with automated invoicing.

Workflow automation is powerful: automatic email notifications, approval workflows, PDF generation with custom templates, webhook triggers for advanced integrations. Multi-page forms with progress bar improve conversion on long forms. The appointment booking widget with calendar sync (Google Calendar, Outlook) is a killer feature we use extensively.

Customization is deep: custom CSS for full visual control, calculation fields for quotes and estimates, HIPAA compliance mode for healthcare, GDPR features for European privacy. We even used the prefill feature to create personalized forms via URL parameters.

What's genuinely missing? Native AI analysis of responses (sentiment analysis, automatic categorization), and A/B testing for conversion optimization. But honestly, for 95% of professional needs, Jotform covers everything.

Verdict: exceptional features for businesses needing advanced forms beyond simple contact collection. It's a genuine business tool, not just a form builder.

Criterion 04 · Customer support and assistance

Test JotformCustomer support and assistance

3.8/5

Support is decent but uneven depending on your plan and issue complexity. The documentation is genuinely excellent: ultra-complete with step-by-step video tutorials for every feature. We found answers to 80% of our questions without contacting support. The knowledge base is searchable and well-organized, with real-world examples and code snippets for advanced customization.

Email support typically responds within 24-48 hours on paid plans (Bronze, Silver, Gold). We contacted support 4 times in 8 months: 3 times for technical questions (webhook configuration, custom CSS, payment integration), resolved clearly and quickly. Once for a webhook bug that took 3 days and 2 back-and-forths to resolve, which was frustrating on a time-sensitive client project.

What's annoying: no live chat on Silver plan (€39/month). When you're blocked on a client deadline at 6 PM, waiting 24h for an email response is painful. Live chat is reserved for Gold and Enterprise plans. The community forum is active but variable quality: you'll find answers to common questions, but rare technical issues get few responses.

Enterprise plan includes dedicated support with priority response and a dedicated account manager. We don't have experience with this tier, but clients report much faster resolution. Phone support exists but is also reserved for higher plans.

Verdict: good self-service documentation but reactive support limited by plan. Frustrating for urgent issues on mid-tier plans. Budget for Gold if you need responsive support.

Criterion 05 · Available integrations

Test JotformAvailable integrations

4.8/5

Frankly, it's one of the best integration ecosystems we've tested: 150+ native integrations without needing Zapier. Jotform easily connects with Salesforce, HubSpot, Airtable for database management, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Dropbox, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Slack, Trello, Asana, Monday, Notion, and dozens more essential business tools. We use it to sync form responses directly into client CRMs in real-time.

CRM integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho) are particularly well-done: automatic lead creation, field mapping with custom properties, duplicate detection. We set up a Salesforce integration in under 15 minutes with zero technical skills. Payment integrations (Stripe, PayPal, Square) work flawlessly: we've processed thousands of euros in bookings and purchases without a single issue.

Cloud storage integrations (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box) automatically save uploaded files organized by submission. Email marketing integrations (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, SendGrid) allow direct subscriber list sync. Project management integrations (Trello, Asana, Monday) create automatic tasks from form submissions.

Webhooks are powerful for custom automations: we use them to trigger n8n automation scenarios and custom APIs. The webhook payload is well-structured with all form data in JSON. We even created complex workflows combining Jotform → Webhook → Make → Airtable → Slack for client onboarding.

What's rare: Canva integration for automated document generation, SMS integrations (Twilio), e-signature integrations (DocuSign). Only competitor at this level: Typeform, but with fewer payment and CRM options.

Verdict: exceptional integration ecosystem that eliminates the need for middleware in 90% of cases. It's a genuine workflow hub.

FAQ · 10 questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Is Jotform really free?
Yes, Jotform offers a lifetime free Starter plan with no credit card required. This plan includes 5 forms, 100 monthly submissions, 100 MB storage, and access to basic features. It's sufficient to test the tool and manage simple forms with low traffic. However, if you exceed 100 submissions/month or need advanced features (payments, integrations, workflows, custom branding), you'll need to upgrade to a paid plan starting at €34/month for Bronze.
  • How much does Jotform cost per month?
Jotform offers 5 pricing tiers: Starter (free) with 100 submissions/month, Bronze (€34/month) with 1,000 submissions, Silver (€39/month) with 2,500 submissions, Gold (€99/month) with 10,000 submissions, and Enterprise (custom pricing) with unlimited submissions and dedicated support. Costs rise quickly with traffic: at 5,000 submissions/month, you're already at €99/month. Storage limits also vary from 100 MB (free) to 100 GB (Gold). Choose based on your monthly traffic and storage needs.
  • Does Jotform slow down my website?
No, Jotform has minimal impact on site performance. The embed script loads asynchronously and weighs around 100-150 KB depending on form complexity. We tested on 5 client sites with Google PageSpeed Insights: no significant score degradation after embedding forms. Form loading happens client-side without burdening your server. Only recommendation: use the iframe embed method for heavy forms with file uploads, or the JavaScript embed for lighter forms. Avoid embedding multiple complex forms on the same page to maintain optimal performance.
  • Can Jotform accept online payments?
Yes, Jotform natively integrates payments with Stripe, PayPal, Square, and 20+ other payment processors. You can sell products, collect donations, accept bookings, or charge for services directly from your forms. We've processed thousands of euros through Jotform with zero transaction issues. Setup takes 5 minutes: connect your Stripe/PayPal account, add a payment field, define amounts. Jotform takes no commission on transactions (only processor fees apply). Payment fields support fixed prices, calculated amounts, and quantity selection. Note that the free Starter plan caps the number of payments you can collect, so high-volume sellers will need a paid plan.
  • What's the difference between Jotform and Google Forms?
Google Forms is free unlimited but very basic, while Jotform is a professional business tool. Main differences: Jotform offers 40+ field types vs. 9 for Google Forms, native payment integration (Stripe, PayPal) vs. none, 150+ business integrations vs. only Google Workspace, advanced conditional logic, workflow automation, PDF generation, e-signatures, and appointment booking. Google Forms is perfect for simple surveys. Jotform is essential for businesses needing advanced forms with payments, CRM sync, or complex workflows. The trade-off: Google Forms is free unlimited, Jotform costs €34-99/month for professional features.
  • Is Jotform GDPR compliant?
Yes, Jotform is fully GDPR compliant with features specifically designed for European privacy regulations. The platform offers data encryption (SSL/TLS), data processing agreements (DPA), EU data hosting options, automatic data deletion, and consent management. You can configure cookie consent banners, add GDPR-compliant privacy checkboxes, and set automatic response deletion after a defined period. We use Jotform for European client projects without GDPR concerns. The platform is also HIPAA compliant for healthcare (on Enterprise plan) and PCI DSS certified for payment security.
  • Can you use Jotform on WordPress?
Yes, Jotform integrates perfectly with WordPress via an official plugin. Install the free Jotform plugin from the WordPress directory, connect your Jotform account, and embed forms via shortcode or Gutenberg block. Forms are responsive and work flawlessly on all WordPress themes. We use it on 8 client WordPress sites managed by our agency without technical issues. Alternatively, you can manually embed forms via iframe or JavaScript code. Form submissions sync to Jotform's dashboard regardless of embedding method. No impact on WordPress performance or conflicts with other plugins in our tests.
  • Jotform vs Typeform: when to choose Jotform?
Choose Jotform if you need more integrations and payment features, choose Typeform if you prioritize UX and conversion. Jotform offers 150+ native integrations vs. 120 for Typeform, native payment with 20+ processors vs. limited options, more field types (40+ vs. 25), and generally better value at high volumes. Typeform has superior conversational UX, better conversion rates on long forms, and more modern design. We use Jotform for business forms with CRM/payment needs, Typeform for marketing surveys prioritizing completion rates. Pricing is similar (€30-100/month), but Jotform offers more submissions per tier.
  • How many forms can I create with Jotform?
It depends on your plan: Starter (free) allows 5 forms, Bronze allows 25 forms, Silver allows 50 forms, Gold allows 100 forms, and Enterprise allows unlimited forms. Most businesses stay under 50 forms. We manage 30 active forms across client projects on a Silver plan without issues. If you hit limits, you can archive inactive forms without losing data and reactivate them later. Unlimited forms on Enterprise are mainly useful for agencies managing hundreds of client forms or large enterprises with decentralized form creation across departments.
  • What's the best free alternative to Jotform?
Google Forms is the best free unlimited alternative, but it's very basic compared to Jotform. For more advanced free options: Tally.so offers unlimited forms and submissions free with modern UX (but limited integrations), HubSpot Forms is free unlimited if you use HubSpot CRM (but locked into their ecosystem), and Typeform offers 10 responses/month free (excellent UX but extremely limited free plan). If you need Jotform's features (payments, 150+ integrations, workflows) but free, honestly there's no real alternative. Google Forms + Zapier automation can replicate some features but becomes complex quickly. Jotform's free plan (100 submissions/month) is generous for testing before committing.
