How Much Does Textline Cost?

The real price of the business texting platform, plan by plan, credits and compliance included.

Short answer: Textline starts at $16/agent/month on the Limited plan with annual billing ($20 monthly), with a 14-day free trial and no credit card. Because it bills per seat with a 3-agent minimum, the real floor sits around $48/month. On top of that come message credits, 10DLC registration and optional HIPAA compliance. We walk through every plan, every add-on, and what you actually pay for your profile.

Prices checked June 2026 and cross-referenced across third-party sources (Business.com, BusinessNewsDaily, Emitrr). Textline's official page no longer publishes subscription prices and routes you to a quote, so these per-agent rates should be confirmed with the vendor. The HIPAA plans run close to double the standard rate.

Mind the entry price

Textline bills per seat, then in add-ons

The per-agent price only covers platform access. Messages, number registration and compliance are billed on top, and the total climbs fast. Here is what each piece costs.

Per-agent subscription

The core of the price: each seat runs $16 (Limited), $24 (Standard) or $40/month (Pro) annually, with a 3-agent minimum (5 on Pro). This is the module detailed in the table above.

Message credits

SMS are not included: they run on credits, billed at ~$0.03 each with a 500-credit minimum purchase, roughly $15/month. Backup credits cost $0.04, and incoming messages consume credits too. Watch this line if you send volume.

Numbers and 10DLC

Each additional phone number costs ~$9.99/month. To send from a US local number, A2P 10DLC registration adds $15/month in campaign fees. Toll-free numbers skip that registration cost.

HIPAA compliance and add-ons

HIPAA compliance roughly doubles the per-agent price (~$60 on Standard, ~$95 on Pro). The webchat / chatbot is a ~$29.99/month add-on. These options are decisive in healthcare, but they weigh on the budget.

  • Starting small? The 3-agent minimum sets your floor.
  • Sending volume? Add message credits to your math.
  • Using a US local number? Budget $15/month for 10DLC.
  • In healthcare? HIPAA nearly doubles the per-agent rate.
  • Want web chat? The add-on is billed on top.

Is Textline expensive?

Textline's price versus the alternatives

Textline's entry price against two common business texting tools. Textline bills per seat with a 3-agent minimum, where Salesmsg and SimpleTexting start at a single user. Compare the model as much as the price.

Entry prices checked June 2026 on official pages and third-party sources. Textline bills per seat with a 3-agent minimum, so its floor (~$48/month) sits above Salesmsg ($25) or SimpleTexting ($39) for a solo user. But Textline targets HIPAA-compliant team messaging, where the other two lean more toward SMS marketing.

The verdict

So, is Textline expensive?

Our take after testing it: the per-agent rate is fair, but the 3-seat minimum and the add-ons push up the entry ticket. Here is when it pays off, and when it stings.

Good value if…

You run a support or sales team that texts daily and you need compliance. From $16/agent/month with history, integrations and consent workflows, Textline is one of the strongest tools for serious team messaging, HIPAA included.

Less appealing if…

You are solo or a pair and just want to send marketing SMS. The 3-agent minimum makes you pay for unused seats (~$48/month floor), and credits add up. In that case, Salesmsg ($25) or SimpleTexting ($39) work out cheaper.

The verdict

Textline is an excellent team messaging tool at a fair price, provided you fit the profile. Pay annually, size your credits as tightly as possible, and only take the HIPAA option if your sector truly requires it.

  • Pay annually: roughly 20% off the per-agent rate.
  • Stay on the agent minimum while the team is not growing.
  • Size your credits tightly to avoid a runaway line item.
  • Use the 14-day free trial, no card, to validate the tool.
  • Take the HIPAA option only if your sector truly demands it.
Pricing FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Textline pricing

  • How much does Textline cost per month?
Textline starts at $16/agent/month on the Limited plan with annual billing, or $20/agent/month monthly. But it bills per seat with a 3-agent minimum, so the real floor is around $48/month annually. Higher plans run $24/agent/month (Standard) and $40/agent/month (Pro, 5-agent minimum) annually. On top of that come message credits and, for US local numbers, 10DLC fees. The smart move is to stay on the agent minimum while your team is not growing.
  • How much does Textline cost per year?
On annual billing, the Limited plan runs about $192/year per agent ($16 x 12), or roughly $576/year for the 3-agent floor. Standard works out near $864/year for 3 agents and Pro near $2,400/year for 5 agents. Annual billing saves roughly 20% versus monthly. On top of that budget come message credits and 10DLC fees. Always confirm the exact price with an official quote before you pay, since Textline no longer publishes its rates publicly.
  • Does Textline have a free plan?
No, Textline has no permanent free plan. It does offer a 14-day free trial, with no credit card. During the trial you get the platform's features: SMS sending, a shared inbox, automations and integrations. That is enough to test the tool with your team before committing. After 14 days you have to move to a paid plan, billed per seat with a 3-agent minimum, to keep sending messages. There is no perpetual free tier to fall back on.
  • Are message credits included in Textline's price?
Not in the per-agent model. The subscription covers each seat's access to the platform, but SMS run on credits billed separately. Expect about $0.03 per credit, with a 500-credit minimum purchase, roughly $15/month. Backup credits, bought automatically if your balance drops below a threshold, cost $0.04 each. Note that incoming messages consume credits too. If you send high volume, this line can quickly become the heaviest part of your bill, so watch it closely.
  • How much does a full Textline setup cost?
Expect about $78/month on annual billing for an entry setup: 3 agents on Limited (~$48) + message credits (~$15) + 10DLC fees (~$15) for a US local number. That is the real floor with options included. For an SMB on Standard, the total climbs to around $100/month, and for a 5-agent team on Pro to around $230/month. If your sector requires HIPAA compliance, budget close to double on the per-agent portion, around $160/month for 3 agents.
  • Is Textline more expensive than Salesmsg or SimpleTexting?
For solo use, yes. Salesmsg starts at $25/month with one seat and one number included, and SimpleTexting at $39/month with 500 credits. Textline enforces a 3-agent minimum, so its floor sits around $48/month annually, plus credits. That said, Textline targets team messaging with HIPAA compliance, consent workflows and a robust shared inbox, where Salesmsg and SimpleTexting lean more toward SMS marketing. The right pick depends mostly on your use case, not just the entry price.
  • Why does Textline bill per agent instead of per contact?
It is the model choice that sets Textline apart from SMS marketing tools. You pay for each user who accesses the shared inbox, not for the number of contacts or included messages. This model suits support and sales teams that handle conversations together, with assignment, internal notes and history. It penalizes solo or campaign-heavy use, where a per-credit or per-contact model often works out cheaper. The 3-agent minimum reinforces that team-first logic, so it rewards collaboration over one-person sending.
  • Is there a discount for paying Textline annually?
Yes. Annual billing saves roughly 20% on the per-agent rate: Limited drops from about $20 to $16/agent/month, Standard from $30 to $24, and Pro from $50 to $40. That is the main lever to pay Textline less. Message credits and 10DLC fees, however, do not get that discount, they stay usage-based. Be wary of third-party coupon pages: the best lever is the annual commitment, plus provisioning only the number of agents you genuinely need rather than padding seats.
  • How much does HIPAA compliance cost on Textline?
HIPAA compliance roughly doubles the per-agent rate. On the Standard plan, the HIPAA option goes from about $30 to $60/agent/month, and on Pro from about $50 to $95/agent/month at the monthly rate. For a 3-agent healthcare team on Standard HIPAA, expect around $160/month annually, credits included. Textline is one of the few business texting tools to offer real HIPAA compliance with a signed BAA, which justifies the premium for clinics, practices and healthcare players bound by that regulation.
  • Can I cancel Textline easily?
Yes, the subscription is managed from your account, and you can adjust the agent count or change plans as your team evolves. The watch-out concerns numbers and 10DLC: A2P registration is tied to your account, and porting a number to another service can take time. Remember to export your conversations before closing, since history depends on your plan (90 days on Limited, unlimited on Pro). Because Textline no longer publishes its prices, ask for a written summary of the cancellation terms before you sign.
