How Much Does Kartra Cost?

The real price of the all-in-one platform for creators, plan by plan, fees included.

Short answer: Kartra starts at $52/month on Essentials with annual billing ($59 monthly), with a 14-day trial for $1 and a 30-day money-back guarantee. But Essentials is a bait plan: it takes 5% off every sale and caps you at one product, one course and 500 contacts. The first plan that actually works for selling is Starter at $99/month (0% fees, unlimited products and courses). We walk through every plan and what you really pay as your list grows.

What each Kartra plan costs

These are Kartra's four plans. The price tracks the number of contacts (leads) you store, not the number of seats. Everything is bundled into the platform: pages, funnels, email, memberships, checkout, automations. Prices shown are annual, the lowest; monthly is higher, and watch the 6-month promo rates that do not last.

Prices checked June 2026 on kartra.com/pricing and cross-referenced across several sources. The price tracks contacts: 500 (Essentials), 2,500 (Starter), 12,500 (Growth), 25,000 (Professional). Watch the monthly 6-month promos ($79/$99 on Starter/Growth) that then revert to the full rate ($119/$229). Annual remains the stable reference.

Mind the entry plan

What makes the bill climb

The $52 entry price does not tell the whole story. On Kartra, two things push the bill up: your contact count and the limits baked into Essentials. Here are the real price levers.

Contacts (leads)

This is the main lever. Pass 500 contacts and you are forced onto Starter, pass 2,500 and you move to Growth, pass 12,500 and you land on Professional. A list that grows mechanically pushes your subscription up, even if you do not use any extra features.

The 5% fee on Essentials

The best-hidden trap: Essentials takes 5% off every sale. On $5,000 of monthly sales, that is $250 in fees, far more than the gap to Starter. From Starter up, fees drop to 0%. That alone is often the real reason creators leave Essentials behind.

Product and course limits

Essentials caps you at one product, one course and five pages. The moment you launch a second funnel or a second offer, you have to move to Starter, which unlocks unlimited products, courses and pages. Most serious creators jump as soon as they run their first real launch.

Email, domains and team

Essentials caps email at 10,000 per month and one domain. From Starter, email and SMS become unlimited, and you unlock 5 team members (10 on Growth). Webinars for up to 300 attendees only arrive with the Growth plan.

  • Selling one offer to fewer than 500 contacts? Essentials may do at first.
  • Making regular sales? The 5% on Essentials soon costs more than Starter.
  • Launching several products or courses? You need Starter at minimum.
  • List over 2,500 contacts? Plan for the move to Growth.
  • Want webinars? They only arrive from the Growth plan up.
Our method

How we size the real cost

Kartra's sticker price does not tell you what you really pay, because the entry plan hides transaction fees and strict limits. To size the real cost, we think in profiles: list size, number of offers and sales volume, on annual billing. Here are the criteria that matter.

Estimates with annual billing (June 2026). The price tracks contact count, not the number of users. On Essentials, mentally add the 5% fee on your sales: past a few thousand dollars of monthly revenue, Starter at $99 works out cheaper than the bait plan.

Kartra sits in the middle: more complete than Systeme.io, cheaper than Kajabi at comparable features.

The verdict

So, is Kartra expensive?

Our take after testing it: Kartra is fairly priced for an all-in-one platform, as long as you skip the bait plan the moment you start selling for real. Here is when it pays off, and how to pay less.

Good value if…

You want everything in one place (pages, email, courses, checkout, automations) without stitching five tools together. At $99/month on Starter with 0% fees and everything unlimited, Kartra easily replaces a stack that would cost more once you add up the separate subscriptions.

Less appealing if…

You are starting on a tight budget with a single small offer. Systeme.io's free plan (2,000 contacts) or its $27/month entry does the job at first. And if you stay on Essentials while making sales, the 5% fee costs you more than you save on the subscription.

How to pay less

Kartra is a solid all-in-one at a fair price, provided you aim straight for Starter ($99) rather than Essentials. Pay annually, watch your contact tier, and only stay on Essentials while you are not selling yet. Otherwise the 5% fee wipes out any saving from the entry plan.

  • Pay annually: roughly 17% off on average across the plans.
  • Aim straight for Starter ($99) once you make sales: 0% fees.
  • Use the 14-day trial for $1 and the 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • Watch your contact count so you do not change tier unexpectedly.
  • Beware the monthly 6-month promos that revert to the full rate.
Pricing FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Kartra pricing

  • How much does Kartra cost per month?
Kartra starts at $52/month on the Essentials plan with annual billing, or $59/month monthly. But Essentials is a bait plan limited to one product, one course and 500 contacts, with a 5% fee on every sale. The first plan that actually works for selling is Starter at $99/month annual ($119 monthly), with 0% fees and everything unlimited. The higher plans climb to $189/month (Growth) and $429/month (Professional). The price tracks your contact count, not the number of users.
  • How much does Kartra cost per year?
On annual billing, Essentials works out to about $624/year ($52 x 12), Starter around $1,188/year, Growth around $2,268/year and Professional around $5,148/year. Annual saves roughly 17% on average versus monthly, more on the higher plans (up to 22% on Professional). For a creator selling seriously, the right benchmark is the Starter plan, around $1,200/year, with no transaction fees. Always check the exact price on the official page before you pay.
  • Does Kartra have a free plan?
No, Kartra has no permanent free plan. It does offer a 14-day trial for $1 that gives full access to the features of your chosen plan, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee. That is enough to test pages, funnels, email and memberships before you commit. If you want a true long-term free plan, look at Systeme.io, which offers a free plan with 2,000 contacts. Once the trial ends, you have to move to a paid plan to keep using Kartra.
  • Which Kartra plan is the best value?
For most creators who sell, it is the Starter plan at $99/month annual. It unlocks unlimited products, courses and pages, unlimited email and SMS, and above all removes the 5% transaction fee from Essentials. Essentials at $52/month looks cheaper, but its 5% on every sale and its one-product cap make it costlier as soon as you generate revenue. Growth at $189/month only makes sense beyond 2,500 contacts or if you need webinars and a team.
  • Why does Essentials take 5% on sales?
It is the main hidden limit of Kartra's entry plan. On Essentials, the platform takes 5% on every sale you make, on top of your payment processor's fees. On $5,000 of monthly sales, that is $250 in fees, far more than the $47 gap to Starter. From the Starter plan, these fees drop to 0%. That is often the real reason to leave Essentials: past a certain sales volume, the bait plan mechanically costs more than the one above it.
  • Does Kartra's price depend on the number of contacts?
Yes, that is the main price lever. Kartra bills by the number of contacts (leads) you store, not by the number of users. Essentials covers 500 contacts, Starter 2,500, Growth 12,500 and Professional 25,000. When your list passes a tier, you have to move to the plan above, even if you do not use any more features. It is worth planning ahead: a growing list pushes the subscription up. Beyond 25,000 contacts, you negotiate a higher tier on a custom quote.
  • Is there a discount for paying Kartra annually?
Yes. Annual billing saves roughly 17% on average versus monthly, with bigger gains on the higher plans: about 12% on Essentials, 17% on Starter and Growth, and up to 22% on Professional. That is the main way to pay Kartra less. Watch out, though, for the monthly 6-month promos (Starter and Growth shown at $79 and $99): they then revert to the full rate of $119 and $229. The annual commitment remains the most reliable lever.
  • How much does Kartra cost for a course creator?
For a course creator selling one or more programs, the right plan is Starter at $99/month annual. It offers unlimited courses and memberships, 2,500 contacts, 0% fees on your sales and unlimited email to nurture your list. The Essentials plan at $52/month allows just one course and takes 5% on every sale, which makes it poorly suited once you genuinely sell. If your list passes 2,500 students, move to Growth at $189/month, which adds webinars for up to 300 attendees.
  • Is Kartra more expensive than Systeme.io or Kajabi?
It depends on the positioning. Systeme.io is clearly cheaper: it offers a free plan with 2,000 contacts and a paid entry at $27/month, versus $52 to $99 on Kartra. Kajabi is pricier, with an entry around $143/month annual, and stays very course-premium focused. Kartra sits in the middle: more complete and more affordable than Kajabi at comparable features, but pricier than Systeme.io. If budget rules, Systeme.io wins; if you want a robust all-in-one platform without paying the Kajabi price, Kartra is a good compromise.
  • Can I cancel Kartra easily?
Yes, the subscription can be cancelled or changed at any time from your account, and the 30-day money-back guarantee protects you on the first month. The watch-out concerns your data: before closing your account, export your contacts, your pages and your course content, because everything lives inside the platform. Remember to redirect or recover your custom domains too. Since Kartra hosts your entire funnel, plan a careful migration if you move to another tool, so you do not break your live sales pages.
