Bubble vs Adalo 2026

Short answer: pick Bubble if you are building a web SaaS, marketplace or admin portal that needs a real workflow engine, complex database relations and compliance; pick Adalo if you want to ship a native iOS and Android app to the stores fast on a flat, predictable budget. Bubble scores 4.1/5 overall in our tests, Adalo 3.9/5.

The angle nobody updated: Adalo launched Ada AI on March 10, 2026, which builds a complete multi-screen app with database and navigation in seconds, and the Adalo 3.0 rebuild made the platform three to four times faster. Meanwhile Bubble expanded its AI agent to existing apps in April 2026 and keeps its SOC 2 Type II edge with a HIPAA target for H2 2026. Those two 2026 launches, plus one architecture split, decide most of this match.

Round 1 · Ease of use

01 Round 1: building the first app without code.

Bubble
3.5/5
WinnerAdalo
Adalo
4.5/5
Our verdictEase of use · Winner : Adalo

Adalo wins this by a clear 4.5 to 3.5 margin, and the gap is real in practice. A non-technical founder can build and publish a basic app on Adalo in a weekend: the drag-and-drop canvas, 200+ pre-built components and Ada's Magic Start drop time-to-first-screen below 60 seconds from a plain-language prompt. Reviewers consistently cite Adalo as the most beginner-accessible no-code mobile builder, and AppBuilderGuides ranked it the #1 visual builder for non-developers in February 2026.

Bubble is the opposite trade. The visual editor is powerful but steep: typical onboarding runs three weeks or more before you reach workflow autonomy, and the grid-based layout with state management trips up beginners. Bubble's own documentation is excellent, but needing it just to start is a red flag for simplicity on G2. Ada's Magic Start and Bubble's AI agent (expanded April 2026) can both generate apps from text, yet Ada hands you a finished mobile app with database and navigation immediately, while Bubble's agent is more powerful but wants more direction. For any team that must be productive on day one, Adalo is the only answer here.

Choose Bubble if you have a few weeks for the learning curve or can hire a Bubble developer.

Adalo

Choose Adalo if you need to ship a working app this weekend with no technical background.

Round 2 · Value for money

02 Round 2: where the real bill lands.

Bubble
4.0/5
WinnerBubble
Adalo
3.5/5
Our verdictValue for money · Winner : Bubble

Bubble takes this 4.0 to 3.5, and the deciding factor is capability per dollar for a web product. Bubble's $29/mo web Starter packs a full workflow engine, an API connector, an integrated database with complex relations, the 4,000+ plugin marketplace, a custom domain and SOC 2 Type II infrastructure. For a web SaaS, that is substantial depth at the entry price. Adalo's $36/mo Starter answers with unlimited records, flat-rate billing, Ada AI and native iOS, Android and web from one editor, which is unbeatable for mobile-first budgets but thinner on raw backend depth.

The honest story is more nuanced, and it inverts at scale. Bubble's WU model means a high-traffic app at 10,000 users can run $600 to $1,200/mo or more (verify, traffic-dependent), whereas Adalo stays flat at $36 to $160/mo regardless of user count. Adalo's per-app pricing erodes value the other way: managing three client apps pushes you to the $160/mo Team plan, while a single Bubble plan covers unlimited apps. And the $29 Bubble sticker understates real cost: a production Starter app often runs $80 to $150/mo once email, analytics and plugins are factored in. Price your own traffic and app count before deciding.

Bubble

Choose Bubble for web products where depth of capability per dollar matters most.

Adalo

Choose Adalo for mobile MVPs where flat-rate predictability beats raw feature depth.

Round 3 · Features and depth

03 Round 3: raw power and where each hits a ceiling.

Bubble
4.5/5
WinnerBubble
Adalo
4.0/5
Our verdictFeatures and depth · Winner : Bubble

Bubble takes this 4.5 to 4.0 on the strength of a full visual programming environment. Multi-step conditional workflows, server-side scheduled recurring jobs, many-to-many database relations, custom states, URL routing, real-time data, built-in version control from Growth, a native REST/GraphQL API connector, OAuth/SSO, SOC 2 Type II and a HIPAA roadmap for H2 2026 all live in one platform. Adalo simply has no server-side workflow engine, and any complex conditional logic requires the external Xano add-on.

Adalo is genuinely strong for simple-to-medium consumer apps, and it is not standing still. Adalo 3.0 (late 2025) made the platform three to four times faster and, per Adalo, capable of one million-plus monthly active users, while Ada's X-Ray analyzes a live app for performance bottlenecks and suggests fixes, a feature with no Bubble equivalent at that accessibility level. Bubble's own mobile builder, native iOS and Android, has been in beta since mid-2025 and was declared production-ready in the April 2026 AMA, with a mobile AI agent targeted for July 2026. But for server-side logic, scheduled jobs, multi-tenant architecture and compliance, Bubble's depth is in a different class. The missing backend engine costs Adalo this round.

Bubble

Choose Bubble for any product needing server-side logic, scheduled jobs or complex data relations.

Adalo

Choose Adalo for consumer mobile apps where the depth limit is acceptable and native distribution wins.

Round 4 · Customer support and assistance

04 Round 4: who answers when it breaks.

Bubble
4.0/5
WinnerBubble
Adalo
3.5/5
Our verdictCustomer support and assistance · Winner : Bubble

Bubble wins this 4.0 to 3.5, mainly on community depth. The Bubble forum is one of the most active no-code communities anywhere: thousands of posts with typical community responses within two to four hours, backed by Slack, Discord and an extensive YouTube library. Official support tickets respond in roughly 18 hours for technical issues. Adalo's forum is active but much smaller, around ten posts a day per Bubble's comparison data, which thins out the self-service safety net when you hit an edge case.

Neither tool is flawless here. Bubble has no live chat below Enterprise, which requires a $1,000+/mo plan, its forum moderation is strict with permanent bans that cannot be contested, and official support is noted for closing tickets after a single reply even when unresolved. Adalo locks priority support behind the $160/mo Team plan; lower tiers rely on email tickets with historically variable response times, and Trustpilot reviews are mixed, with some users reporting weeks without a reply. Both lack phone support on any entry or mid plan, so an enterprise or dedicated tier is the only path to SLA-backed responses. The larger, faster community tips this round to Bubble.

Bubble

Choose Bubble if a large self-service community matters and you can tolerate ticket queues.

Adalo

Choose Adalo Team at $160/mo if priority support response is critical and your use case fits.

Round 5 · Available integrations

05 Round 5: 4,000+ plugins vs the Zapier bridge.

Bubble
4.5/5
WinnerBubble
Adalo
3.8/5
Our verdictAvailable integrations · Winner : Bubble

Bubble wins this 4.5 to 3.8 on raw catalog depth and server-side reach. The marketplace lists 4,000+ plugins spanning payments (Stripe, PayPal), communications (Twilio, SendGrid), AI (OpenAI, Anthropic, Replicate), analytics (Segment, Mixpanel, Amplitude) and CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce via API). The native REST/GraphQL API connector supports OAuth 2.0, bearer tokens, API keys and basic auth, covering virtually any external service, and Xano integrates natively from Growth. One caveat worth stating: many marketplace plugins are outdated, with roughly 1,000 rated high-quality.

Adalo runs about 12 native direct integrations, Zapier, Airtable, Stripe, Google Sheets and Xano on Team, then leans on Zapier to reach 5,000+ indirect services. Custom integrations and external collections arrive on Professional, and the Adalo API is Team-only. The structural gap from reviewers: Adalo cannot call external APIs directly from a server-side workflow because it has no backend equivalent, so API calls happen client-side through custom actions, which limits reliability and security for sensitive operations. Where Zapier automation plus a handful of native connectors is enough, Adalo copes; where deep, server-side integration matters, Bubble is in another league.

Bubble

Choose Bubble for products needing deep third-party integrations or server-side API orchestration.

Adalo

Choose Adalo where Zapier automation and a handful of native connectors are sufficient.

The shortlist

Pick by scenario

Choose Bubble if...

  • You are building a web SaaS, marketplace or admin portal; Bubble's workflow engine handles multi-tenant logic Adalo cannot express
  • Your product needs scheduled or recurring backend tasks like automated emails, cron jobs or data processing, which Adalo has no native way to run
  • Compliance matters: SOC 2 Type II is already certified and HIPAA on a dedicated plan is targeted for H2 2026; Adalo has none
  • You need a rich integration ecosystem out of the box: 4,000+ plugins, a REST/GraphQL API connector and enterprise SSO and OAuth
  • You want complex database structures with many-to-many relationships, custom privacy rules and row-level filtering handled natively

Choose Adalo if...

  • Your primary goal is shipping a native iOS and Android app to the stores; Adalo publishes true native binaries from one editor
  • Budget predictability is critical: flat $36/mo Starter with unlimited records, unlimited users and zero WU overages removes the spike risk
  • Speed to launch beats feature depth: Ada AI generates a complete multi-screen app with database and navigation in seconds from a prompt
  • You want Ada's X-Ray to proactively analyze and fix performance bottlenecks in your live app, with no Bubble equivalent at that level
  • Your team has no technical background and needs to be productive on day one without a three-week learning curve or a developer budget

FAQ · 10 questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Is Bubble or Adalo better for building a mobile app in 2026?
Adalo is better for native mobile. It publishes true native iOS (IPA) and Android (APK) binaries to the App Store and Google Play directly from its visual editor, with no wrappers. Bubble's mobile offering, on separate web+mobile plans from $59/mo, entered public beta in mid-2025 and was declared production-ready in April 2026, but it is a distinct product from the web editor, not a unified builder. If native store distribution is your primary goal, Adalo's unified approach with Ada AI is currently faster and simpler.
  • How much does Bubble actually cost vs Adalo for a production app in 2026?
Bubble web Starter is $29/mo annual plus realistically $20 to $50/mo in external services like email and plugins, so $49 to $80/mo; Growth, the first real production plan for agencies, is $119/mo, and at 1,000 active users expect $250 to $300/mo (verify, WU-dependent). Adalo Starter is $36/mo flat with unlimited users and zero overages, about $36 to $44/mo for a solo founder once the amortised Apple fee is added. The gap is smaller than it looks at the start and reverses at high traffic for web apps.
  • Bubble vs Adalo vs FlutterFlow: which is best in 2026?
Bubble wins for complex web SaaS and backend-heavy products. Adalo wins for fast native mobile MVPs with flat-rate pricing and Ada AI. FlutterFlow sits between them: it is Dart and Flutter based, produces high-quality native mobile and web apps, but needs more technical familiarity, closer to low-code than no-code. For a non-technical founder shipping mobile, choose Adalo; for a web SaaS, Bubble; for a team with some technical capacity wanting production-grade native apps with full code export, FlutterFlow.
  • Can you migrate from Adalo to Bubble, or vice versa?
There is no direct migration path between the two platforms. Adalo can export data as CSV and Bubble accepts CSV imports and has an import API, but logic and UI components cannot be transferred automatically, so a migration means rebuilding the app from scratch on the target platform. Budget at least two to four weeks for a medium-complexity app and consider using Bubble's AI agent or Adalo's Ada to accelerate the rebuild. Starting with a parallel prototype on the target platform before full cutover is strongly recommended.
  • Is Bubble free to use in 2026?
Yes, Bubble's Free plan is permanent, not a trial. It includes 50,000 WU per month, unlimited data in development mode and full access to the visual editor. The critical limitation: you cannot deploy your app to production on the Free plan, so it stays in development mode on a bubbleapps.io subdomain, and Bubble branding is present and cannot be removed. Most founders hit the free ceiling within a few weeks and upgrade to Starter at $29/mo annual to go live.
  • Is Adalo free to use in 2026?
Yes, Adalo's Free plan is free forever with no credit card required. You can build unlimited test apps with the Ada AI assistant, but published apps are capped at 500 records each and display Adalo branding. You cannot publish to the Apple App Store or Google Play on the Free plan; that requires at least Starter at $36/mo. Unlike Bubble, Adalo's free tier lets you share and test your app as a web app on an Adalo subdomain, which is useful for early user validation before you pay.
  • Does Bubble have HIPAA compliance in 2026?
Not yet as a full certification, but it is on the roadmap. Bubble's SOC 2 Type II report for the platform is current. HIPAA compliance for apps is targeted for H2 2026 and will require a dedicated or Enterprise plan with custom infrastructure, so teams building health or wellness apps on Bubble should plan for an Enterprise conversation in late 2026. Adalo has no compliance certifications and is not on a HIPAA roadmap, so health-data use cases should not be built on Adalo.
  • What is Ada AI and how is it different from Bubble's AI agent?
Ada launched on March 10, 2026 as Adalo's unified AI building experience. Magic Start turns a plain-language description into a complete multi-screen app with database, screens and navigation in seconds; Magic Add extends existing apps from natural language while understanding your data collections; and X-Ray analyzes live apps for performance issues. Ada is included on all Adalo plans with no usage caps. Bubble's AI agent, expanded to all existing apps in April 2026, is more powerful for complex logic on mature applications, so Ada is faster for greenfield mobile MVPs while Bubble's agent excels at iterating on complex existing products.
  • What is the cheapest way to get a native mobile app on the App Store: Bubble or Adalo?
Adalo is cheaper for native mobile. Adalo Starter at $36/mo annual includes native iOS and Android publishing with no extra platform fees. You still need an Apple Developer account at $99/year and a Google Play account at $25 once. Bubble's web+mobile Starter is $59/mo annual, $23/mo more, and mobile publishing is a distinct product from Bubble's web editor. For a first native mobile app with the lowest possible platform cost, Adalo Starter wins on both price and simplicity.
  • Which is better for a bootstrapped startup or indie maker in 2026?
It depends on what you are building. For a web product such as a SaaS, marketplace or tool, Bubble Starter at $29/mo offers extraordinary depth for the price: a workflow engine, database, API connector, SOC 2 infrastructure and 4,000+ plugins. For a mobile consumer app, Adalo Starter at $36/mo with Ada AI and flat-rate pricing removes cost uncertainty and reaches the App Store faster. The most common mistake is choosing on price alone: Bubble's WU model can get expensive if your web app gets traction, and Adalo's feature ceiling can frustrate you once you need complex server-side logic.
