How Much Does SaneBox Cost?

The real price of AI email sorting, plan by plan, features included.

Short answer: SaneBox starts at $4.92/month on the Snack plan billed annually ($59/year), or $7/month with no commitment, with a 14-day free trial and no credit card. But that tier covers a single mailbox and just two features. Because the price climbs with the number of mailboxes you sort and features you unlock, most people land on Lunch ($99/year) or Dinner ($299/year). We walk through every plan and what you really pay for your profile.

Prices checked June 2026 on sanebox.com/pricing and cross-referenced across several sources. A two-year cycle also exists: $99 (Snack), $169 (Lunch), $499 (Dinner). Billing is per person, not per organization: there is no team or family plan, each user takes their own subscription. Check the exact price on the official page, tiers can change.

What drives the bill

SaneBox pricing follows two levers

SaneBox does not bill à la carte. The price climbs with the number of mailboxes you sort and the features you unlock. Here are the four things that decide what you pay.

The number of mailboxes

Snack sorts only one mailbox. As soon as you want a work and a personal address, you move to Lunch (2 accounts) at $99/year. Beyond two mailboxes, you need Dinner (4 accounts) at $299/year. You do not pay per account added one by one, you move up a tier.

The number of features

Snack caps at 2 features chosen from the menu, and excludes snooze. To unlock SaneSnooze, follow-ups or SaneAttachments, you have to move up to Lunch (6 features) or Dinner (everything, with no selection limit).

Monthly or annual

Monthly with no commitment costs roughly 30% more than annual. Snack goes from $4.92/month (annual) to $7/month, Lunch from $8.25 to $12, Dinner from $24.92 to $36. A two-year cycle lowers the monthly ticket further still.

Per person, not per team

SaneBox bills per user, not per organization. There is no team or family rate: five people means five subscriptions. Worth budgeting if you are kitting out a whole department.

  • One mailbox and simple sorting? Snack at $59/year is enough.
  • A work and a personal address? You need Lunch (2 accounts).
  • Want snooze or follow-ups? That is Lunch at a minimum.
  • Three or four mailboxes? Go straight to Dinner.
  • Core sorting (SaneLater, Daily Digest) is on every plan.
Our method

How we size the real cost

SaneBox's headline price does not tell you what you actually pay, because the right plan depends on your usage. To size the real cost, we start from two questions: how many mailboxes you want to sort, and which features you need. We work in annual billing, the lowest rate. Here is the breakdown.

Is SaneBox expensive?

SaneBox's price versus the alternatives

SaneBox sorts your inbox continuously and learns from your behavior. Here is how its entry price compares to other inbox tools, which do not all play the same role.

Entry prices checked June 2026. Different models.

Our sorting pick

SaneBox

Continuous AI sorting

$59/year (Snack)
  • Plugs into your existing mailbox
  • Auto-sorting that learns from you
  • 14-day free trial, no card
Try SaneBox

Clean Email

Bulk cleanup

~$30/year (from)
  • Groups and archives in bulk
  • Unsubscribe and cleanup rules
  • Tidy-up logic, not continuous sorting

Superhuman

Premium email client

~$360/year (~$30/month)
  • Full mail client, not an add-on
  • Built-in smart sorting and shortcuts
  • Far pricier, a different category

Entry prices checked June 2026 on the official pages. SaneBox and Clean Email do not do the same job: SaneBox sorts continuously and learns your habits, Clean Email cleans in bulk (grouping, mass archiving, unsubscribing). Superhuman is a full premium mail client at an entirely different price. The right benchmark: SaneBox plugs into your current mailbox without replacing it.

The verdict

So, is SaneBox expensive?

Our take after testing it: the entry price is low, and the real cost depends on your mailbox count. Here is when it pays off, and when it stings.

Good value if…

You are drowning in email and want time back without switching mail clients. At $59/year on Snack or $99/year on Lunch, SaneBox costs a few dollars a month for an automatically sorted inbox. If it saves you even an hour a week, the math is quick.

Too expensive if…

You have a single, lightly-loaded mailbox, or you mostly want to clean house once. In that case, a bulk-cleanup tool like Clean Email (from ~$30/year) may be enough. And if you are eyeing Dinner for four mailboxes at $299/year, make sure you actually use all the features you unlock.

The verdict

SaneBox is an excellent sorter at a fair price, as long as you pick the right tier. Start with the 14-day trial, see how many mailboxes you really connect, pay annually to save ~30%, and only move to Dinner if you use its advanced features.

  • Use the 14-day free trial, no card, to validate the sorting.
  • Pay annually: roughly 30% off on every plan.
  • Pick the plan for your real mailbox count, no more.
  • Stay on Snack if one mailbox and 2 features cover you.
  • Refer a friend for $5 of credit on your subscription.
Pricing FAQ

Frequently asked questions about SaneBox pricing

  • How much does SaneBox cost per month?
SaneBox starts at $4.92/month on the Snack plan billed annually ($59/year), or $7/month if you pay monthly with no commitment. The Lunch plan works out to $8.25/month annually ($99/year, or $12/month monthly) and the Dinner plan to $24.92/month annually ($299/year, or $36/month monthly). The price depends on how many mailboxes you sort and how many features you unlock. The smart move is to start on Snack and move up a tier only if you need more accounts or features.
  • How much does SaneBox cost per year?
On annual billing, the Snack plan works out to $59/year, the Lunch plan to $99/year and the Dinner plan to $299/year. That is the lowest rate, roughly 30% cheaper than monthly. There is also a two-year cycle at $99 (Snack), $169 (Lunch) and $499 (Dinner), which lowers the average monthly cost further. Always check the exact price on the official page before you pay, tiers can change.
  • Does SaneBox have a free plan?
No, SaneBox has no permanent free plan. It does offer a 14-day free trial, with no credit card, that gives you full access to automatic inbox sorting. That is enough to see how many low-priority emails SaneBox pulls out of your inbox and judge whether the time saved is worth it. After the 14 days, you have to pick a paid plan to keep sorting.
  • What is the price difference between Snack, Lunch and Dinner?
The three plans differ on mailbox count and features. Snack ($59/year) sorts one mailbox and unlocks 2 features, with no snooze. Lunch ($99/year) handles 2 mailboxes and 6 features, with snooze and follow-ups included. Dinner ($299/year) covers 4 mailboxes and every feature, with no selection limit. If you have a work and a personal address, or you want snooze, you need Lunch at a minimum.
  • Is snooze included in every SaneBox plan?
No. The Snack plan only gives you 2 features chosen from the menu, and snooze (SaneSnooze) is not one of them. To defer an email and have it return at the right time, or to enable automatic follow-ups (SaneReminders), you have to move up to at least Lunch, which unlocks 6 features including snooze. On Dinner, every feature is available with no need to choose.
  • How much does SaneBox cost for several mailboxes?
The number of mailboxes decides the plan directly. One mailbox fits on Snack at $59/year. For two mailboxes, say a work and a personal one, you need Lunch at $99/year. Beyond that, up to four mailboxes, it is Dinner at $299/year. You do not pay per account added one by one, you move up a tier. If you exceed four mailboxes, contact SaneBox for a custom setup.
  • Is there a discount for paying SaneBox annually?
Yes. Annual billing saves roughly 30% versus monthly. The Snack plan goes from $7/month to about $4.92/month ($59/year), Lunch from $12 to $8.25/month ($99/year) and Dinner from $36 to $24.92/month ($299/year). A two-year cycle lowers the average monthly cost further still. SaneBox also offers a referral program: $5 of credit per friend you refer. That is the best lever to pay less.
  • Is SaneBox more expensive than Clean Email or Superhuman?
It depends on what you are after. Clean Email starts around $30/year, a little cheaper than SaneBox, but it cleans in bulk (grouping, mass archiving, unsubscribing) rather than sorting continuously. Superhuman costs about $360/year because it is a full premium mail client, not just a sorting module. SaneBox sits between the two: it plugs into your existing mailbox and learns your habits to sort in real time, from $59/year.
  • Are there hidden fees or add-ons on SaneBox?
No, SaneBox does not stack separately billed options. You do not pay per feature added or per extra mailbox one by one: you simply move up a tier (Snack, Lunch or Dinner) as your needs grow. The one thing to anticipate is that billing is per person, not per organization. So there is no team or family plan, and each user has their own subscription to budget for.
  • Can I cancel SaneBox easily?
Yes, the subscription cancels from your account, and the monthly plans carry no long commitment. SaneBox does not touch your emails irreversibly: it moves them into folders, so if you leave, everything stays in your mailbox. Just remember to turn off sorting before closing your account so your emails return to the inbox. One caveat on refunds: SaneBox does not advertise a standard money-back guarantee, so use the 14-day trial to decide.
