The visual automation builder is a drag-and-drop canvas where a non-technical user can build a 5-email welcome sequence with conditional logic in under 20 minutes. Within 2 hours of first login, most users are fully operational. That is rare in the email marketing space.

Drip gets Shopify connected in one click and starts pulling order and behavioral data immediately, which is impressive. But the automation layer has a real learning investment. The distinction between "series" and "workflows" confuses new users for hours; the naming is not self-explanatory. Complex multi-branch automations become hard to navigate on a single canvas: zooming and moving between branches gets clunky as workflows gain more than four or five decision points. Users coming from Mailchimp report spending several hours just understanding Drip's trigger logic before building anything useful.
